This course will provide you or your trainees with the skills to identify the correct equipment, carry out pre-use checks and learn how to use the harness safely in conjunction with other height safety equipment. Understand the hazard and risk management process, specifically on hazards associated with heights systems and ascertain the importance of having a rescue plan and recovery method's in place, prior to beginning any activity.

 

People credited with this unit standard are able to:

 

1. Demonstrate knowledge of the hazards associated with wearing a safety harness and associated equipment.

2. Demonstrate knowledge of safety harnesses and associated systems and equipment.

3. Check and fit a safety harness system.

4. Use a safety harness system where a fall hazard exists at height.

5. Demonstrate knowledge of the rescue plan to be implemented in the event of a fall.
